Turns the in game binoculars into a living world observer. Follow animals and NPCs, cycle nearby subjects, jump to new areas, see names, behaviour, location and time.
Life Goes On
I’ve always been fascinated by how alive and ridiculously detailed RDR2’s world is. So much happens around you that normally goes unnoticed because you’re simply riding past it. Life Goes On lets you stop, follow the people and animals living in that world, and actually watch those details unfold.
This mod turns the in game binoculars into a way to sit back and watch the world carry on without the player being at the centre of everything.
Aim at any animal or person through the binoculars and use Observe to follow them. From there you can cycle through nearby subjects, jump to completely different populated areas, hide the HUD for a clean cinematic view, or return to Arthur whenever you’re done.
Main features
Observe animals and people directly through the normal binoculars while on foot.
Observer info displays the name, current behaviour, location and in game time.
Detailed Human names built from the games internal NPC id’s, with over 1,000 location, profession and role based names for otherwise unnamed characters.
Map integration that centres the map on your current subject and gives the marker the same animal or NPC name shown in Observer.
Dynamic behaviour descriptions such as Flying, Grazing, Fishing, Smoking, Playing Guitar and other observed activities.
Mission safe behaviour. Life Goes On is disabled while a mission is active rather than interfering with cameras, controls or scripting.
Note:
Some very small ground animals can have camera placement issues due to their size. I was able to solve this for flying birds, but until I find a reliable solution for using a ground level scripted camera, this remains a minor visual quirk with smaller species.

Installation
Download the zip
Move/copy the included LifeGoesOn.asi into your main Red Dead Redemption 2 folder, same folder as RDR2.exe
Launch the game and enter Story Mode.
Uninstall
Delete the file from your Red Dead Redemption 2 folder. The mod does not make permanent changes to your save.
