Realistic Hat Loss for Red Dead Redemption 2
Red Dead Redemption 2 is known for its incredible attention to detail.
Yet there’s one small thing that has always felt surprisingly unrealistic: Arthur’s hat.
He can gallop at full speed through rough terrain, crash into a tree, fall off his horse, survive an explosion, or take a heavy punch… and somehow his hat almost always stays perfectly on his head.
Lost Hat changes that.
The mod introduces realistic hat loss under a variety of situations, making gameplay feel more believable while preserving the original atmosphere of the game.
Features
Realistic hat loss system.
Hat can fly off during high-speed galloping over rough terrain.
Hard collisions with trees, rocks, wagons, and other obstacles.
Falling from horseback.
Explosions and powerful shockwaves.
Heavy impacts during melee combat.
Hats fall naturally onto the ground and can be picked up just like in the vanilla game.
Lightweight script mod.
No game files are replaced.
Fully compatible with Story Mode.
Configuration
On the first launch, the mod automatically creates a
LostHat.ini
configuration file.
This allows you to customize nearly every aspect of the mod, including:
hat loss probability;
collision sensitivity;
and many other options.
Why Lost Hat?
Lost Hat isn’t designed to make the game harder.
Instead, it adds one more believable detail to an already immersive world.
Sometimes it’s the smallest details that make the biggest difference.
