Head Bleed V2 – Hold My Beer Edition is an RDR2 gore script mod focused on post-mortem head bleeding, dynamic blood fountains, execution headshots, neck stump bleeding, extra blood decals and splatter, and cinematic projectile cameras for arrows, tomahawks, and throwing knives.
Unlike the original Head Bleed, V2 is fully script-based and no longer relies on keeping peds artificially alive through damage modifier tricks or PDO-style behavior. Peds can now die normally and still bleed after death, which makes the mod much more compatible with missions, other mods, and all weapons.
Head Bleed V2 also adds improved head frame detection for precise wound placement, head bleeding for peds in vehicles, configurable bleeding times, extra blood decals and splatter, projectile camera features, and a reorganized in-game menu.
Installation instructions
1. Install ScriptHookRDR2.
2. Copy HeadBleedV2.asi into your main Red Dead Redemption 2 folder.
3. Copy the HeadBleedFiles folder into your main Red Dead Redemption 2 folder.
4. If you use a non-western game language and the in-game menu text does not render correctly, open:
HeadBleedFiles/Config/HeadBleedV2_tuning.ini
and set:
PlainMenuText=1
5. Optional: Copy HeadBleedLogo.ytd into your lml/stream folder to enable the custom menu logo.
6. Launch the game.
7. Press F11 in-game to open the Head Bleed V2 menu.
