Reduced Mission Payouts lowers cash rewards from main and side missions by a configurable percentage, with an optional file that also reduces selling prices.
In vanilla Red Dead Redemption 2, mission payouts make money trivial very early on. This mod keeps funds scarce and better aligned with the story, making activities like robberies, hunting, bounties, gambling, and looting meaningful sources of income.
The main file now includes an INI configuration file, allowing you to customize mission payout reductions to your preferred level without downloading separate versions.
Features:
• Configurable reduction for mission payouts (via INI)
• Optional file that reduces selling prices
• Script-based, no game files edited
• Conflict-free and compatible with most gameplay and economy mods
The main file can be used with Kiddo’s hardcore loot economy and should be compatible with most other loot mods.
The optional selling price reduction is also fully script-based and mod conflict free. It has been tested alongside Catalogue Improvements with no issues.
Main file installation instructions:
Extract the zip file and place reducedpayouts.asi and its accompanying INI file into the Red Dead Redemption 2 main game directory.
Adjust the reduction percentages in the INI file to your liking, it’s 70% reduction by default.
Optional file installation instructions:
Extract the zip file and place reducedsellingprices.asi into the Red Dead Redemption 2 main game directory.
Both the main and optional files can be used standalone or together.
This mod is ideal for players who want slower progression, tougher financial decisions, and a more immersive outlaw lifestyle where Arthur or John actually has a reason to turn to crime.
