When you use a weapon and then switch to another one, the weapon you put away will slowly clean itself while it is stored on Arthur. Over time, weapons carried in the holster, on the back, or on the shoulder will recover their condition and become cleaner before you use them again.
This gives a more natural reason to rotate between your weapons during gameplay. Instead of always using the same revolver, rifle, or shotgun, you can switch weapons and let the ones you are not using recover over time.
A fully dirty or degraded weapon takes around 20 real minutes to become fully clean again, so the cleaning is gradual and balanced.

Installation
Install ScriptHookRDR2 by Alexander Blade.
Place the
.asifile in your main Red Dead Redemption 2 folder, where
RDR2.exeis located.
Launch the game.
