HeapAdjusterRDR2 is the RDR2 counterpart of GTAV’s HeapAdjuster Enhanced. It allows users to set a custom heap size through an ini file, which prevents certain types of crashes resulting from the game running low on memory when using too many mods.
Installation instructions
Copy and paste HeapAdjusterRDR2.asi and HeapAdjusterRDR2.ini into the game’s main folder (where RDR2.exe is)
Optionally change the value inside the ini to suit your needs.
Note
The game’s default value (version 1491.50) is 692MiB.
HeapAdjusterRDR2 sets it by default to 1400MiB.
Main features
The script is very lightweight, it simply changes the heap size allocated by the game.
This should allow the use of more mods without crashing due to running out of heap space.
Please note that this will not fix crashes resulting from engine limitations or similar. If you want a stable mod loader, use RageOpenRDR2, which allows you to load mods using a mods folder.
Requirements
ASI Loader: Either use the dinput8.dll that comes with ScriptHookRDR2 or download the x64 dinput8.dll from this page.
