Adds a simple and immersive way to display the current day of the week with a single button press (controller & keyboard supported).
As an extra feature, the Valentine General Store and Gunsmith are closed on Sundays for added realism. More towns coming soon.
Add an extra layer of immersion to Red Dead Redemption 2 with a simple yet impactful feature: a dynamic day-of-the-week display.
The current day can be displayed at any time with a single button press:
Keyboard: ALT
Controller: D-Pad Down
The day appears discreetly on the bottom-left of the screen, blending naturally with the game’s interface.
Sunday Shop Closure (Valentine)
As an additional immersion feature, shops in Valentine follow a weekly schedule:
The General Store and Gunsmith are closed on Sundays
Shop doors (front and back) remain locked
Vendors are absent during the day (between 6:00 AM and midnight on Sundays)
A message appears when approaching the main entrance to inform the player (between 6:00 AM and midnight on Sundays)
Future Updates
I plan to expand this system to other towns, with Strawberry and Rhodes planned next.
Feedback on the current Valentine implementation is highly appreciated to improve and refine the system.
If needed, I can also add an .ini configuration file to allow customization of key bindings.
Compatibility & Recommendations
This mod pairs well with other immersion-focused mods, such as:
A Dynamic World (adds contextual world events, like weekend banners in Valentine)
Blackwater Fireworks (Sunday fireworks from 9PM to 11PM in Blackwater)
Technical Notes
The mod is automatically disabled during missions
It safely handles cases where the player remains inside a shop when it closes, preventing softlocks or blocked exits

Installation
Simply copy the .asi file into your Red Dead Redemption 2 main folder.
