Moonlight enhances the nighttime atmosphere with softer lighting, deeper skies, and a more natural contrast balance.
This mod does not modify any weather files. The game’s original weather conditions are fully preserved.
Includes recommended ReShade presets for different display types (OLED/LCD, SDR/HDR). These presets also affect daytime visuals and the overall image balance. All screenshots were taken using the RDR2 HDR OLED ReShade preset.
This mod includes three versions: a brighter night version (while still darker than vanilla), a darker version, and a Very Dark version recommended for OLED displays, as it may appear too dark on LCD screens. Feel free to try them all and choose the one that best suits your display and personal preference.
Installation Instructions:
You will need Lenny’s Mod Loader to install the mod, and ReShade if you want to use the included presets.
Extract your preferred version and place the “Moonlit” folder into your LML directory:
(C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Red Dead Redemption 2\lml)
Place your chosen ReShade preset next to the game’s executable file:
(C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Red Dead Redemption 2)
Once in-game, open ReShade and select the preset.
Each preset includes cinematic black bars enabled by default, which is my personal preference. You can disable them at any time by unchecking “Letterbox” in the ReShade menu.
If you already use a visual mod that modifies the visualsettings.dat file, download the “Merge” file and replace the corresponding values in your existing mod’s visualsettings.dat with the ones provided.
I don’t know what result this will produce, as some values are probably already modified in your file.
Don’t forget to back up your file before making any changes if you want to revert back later.

To start download click the filename. To open archive files use one of these programs: WinRAR, 7-Zip, WinZip. Some mod archives may need to be extracted before the mods will work.
