CIRCUS MAXIMUS for ASSETTO CORSA :

HISTORY:

Built in the heart of Ancient Rome, the Circus Maximus was the largest capacity stadium ever constructed in history. Originally developed in the 6th century BC and expanded over time, it served as the grand stage for chariot races, gladiatorial games, religious festivals, and imperial triumphs.

At its height, it could hold an estimated 250,000 to 300,000 spectators, more than any modern stadium.

The massive racetrack stretched over 620 meters long and 140 metres wide, and featured the spina, a decorated central barrier adorned with statues, fountains, and obelisks.

Ruins of the Circus Maximus still exist in Rome today. This version for Assetto Corsa is a re-creation of what it might have looked like when it was constructed.

This model also includes two additional tracks, which both start and finish outside Circus Maximus :

“Run the Ruins” is a 4.4km course on old cobble-stoned Roman roads around some ancient ruins, including the Colosseum, the Arch of Constantine, the Temple of Venus and Rome, and the Palace Domus Augustana. The route goes beneath an ancient aqueduct, along avenues lined with cypress pines, palms and umbrella trees.

“Up the Tiber” is a 7.7km trip around the banks of Tiber River which runs through Rome. It traverses several bridges, and crosses the Tiber Island. It features riverbank willow trees, and several ancient boats sailing up the river.

This model features :-

animated torch flames, flags and river surface
boats on the river with animated oars, flags, sails, smoke and bow waves
full night lighting, from flaming torches and cauldrons
animated grass (note – requires Grass-FX activation in CSP)
road kerbs and verges are both collidable and drivable. Fences and walls are collidable
race starts are accompanied by colourful flares
multiple Replay Cameras, including Drone views
