Collector Role V0.2

Collector Role

The Collector Role from Red Dead Online, brought into singleplayer. Madam Nazar, tarot cards, bottles, fossils, a working metal detector, maps with search areas, and a cycle on a three in-game day timer. Three collections are available so far: tarot cards, bottles and fossils. More are planned in future updates.

Nothing to set up — once installed, Madam Nazar is already out there somewhere. Find her wagon, walk up and press the interaction prompt to open her menu. There is also a collection menu you can open anywhere in the world with F3 (changeable in the ini).
Where she is today is written at the bottom of the menu. Every few in-game days she packs up and moves to one of twelve locations. (This does not work with the Ability Cards mod yet).

Tarot Cards
56 cards: four suits of 14. They lie in the world in the same places as in Red Dead Online.
In Eagle Eye the tarot cards glow, and from ten metres away a jingle starts — the sound comes from the card itself, with direction and volume by distance.
You pick one up with the prompt where it lies. John reaches for the card, takes it in hand and looks it over — the grabbing animation is a little abrupt right now, I may fix it in an update. After that the card goes into your real satchel, in its own folder for each suit.

Fossils
20 kinds in three sets — Coastal, Oceanic and Megafauna. Unlike the cards these are buried, and you will not find them without a tool.
The metal detector is bought from any fence or Nazar. Take it in hand and it starts clicking when you are within 28 metres of a find. The closer you get, the faster it clicks. Along with that the lamp brightens and sparks fly.
When the detector goes wild, stand still and hold the dig prompt. The player puts the detector away, takes out a shovel and digs.

Antique Bottles
Nine kinds of liquor. They lie across the map in the same places as in Red Dead Online.
Unlike the cards and the fossils, bottles stand out in the open — on tables, in abandoned camps, against walls. Eagle Eye picks them out, and up close you can hear the glass ring.
You pick one up with the game’s own prompt and its proper animation: John bends down, takes the bottle and turns it over in his hand. Then it goes into your satchel.

Maps
You can search blind, but it takes a while. Nazar sells maps:

taro map — $60, reveals all 14 cards of one suit
fossil map — $85, reveals all 20 sites of the current cycle (prices can be edited in the ini too)
Bottle map — $40, marks all nine places of the current cycle.

A map you buy goes into the satchel and has to be unfolded — the player takes it out, spreads it open, and search circles with a radius of 80 metres appear on the world map. Whatever you find disappears from them.
The map stays in your satchel. It is gone when its work is done: when you have collected everything it marked, or when the cycle turns and everything is laid out anew. Nazar sells tarot maps one at a time, so the one you carry has to be spent before she will sell you another.
The circles live only for as long as the game is running. Start the game again and you open the map again to put them back — the map itself is still yours.

Selling
Everything is sold back to Madam Nazar, and collecting in full pays better.
Cards. A completed suit goes for a bonus — from $240 to $287 depending on the suit, as in RDO. Unfinished suits can be dumped all at once at the price of the individual cards.
Fossils. A full set has a bonus too. Spares sell separately, and anything at all — even the last one of its kind — can be sold one piece at a time through your own satchel.
Bottles. A complete set of nine pays a bonus. Spare bottles sell separately, or one at a time through your satchel.

Collection
A separate page in the menu shows everything you have: the cards drawn with the game’s own artwork, the fossils with their satchel icons. A tick on a card means you have already found it this cycle, and it will not appear in the world until the cycle ends — the same rule as online.
Controller
Controller support is already in. Press and hold Circle on a DualShock or B on an Xbox pad together with D-pad down to open the collection menu. The buttons can be changed in the ini.
Future updates

The mod is alive and still being worked on. Ahead are the other collections, possibly new animations, and whatever else comes up.
Found a bug — write in the comments.
Future updates and continued support for the mod take quite a bit of time and effort. If you’re enjoying the mod, please consider endorsing it — it helps more players find it and gives me extra motivation to keep improving.
Known issues

The one problem is that Ability Cards uses its own relocation for Nazar, so she moves to another location after a game restart rather than when the cycle changes, as intended.

Compatibility
Ability Cards — they work together, It places Madam Nazar as well. If you keep both mods with Spawn=1 (Default), there will be two of her in the world. So pick one in the CollectorRole.ini
want to keep Ability Cards — set Spawn=0, and we will use its Madam Nazar
Catalog mods:
Red Dead Offline
WhyEm’s DLC — Red Dead Offline Edition
Catalogue Improvements
Kiddo’s Hardcore Loot Economy Overhaul
RDR2 Enhanced Edition
Other mods that use the catalog_sp.ymt are not supported yet. Let me know which ones you use and I will try to add them.
Game saves — the mod breaks nothing. It keeps its own progress in a separate file, and puts the cards and fossils into your satchel as ordinary game items. Remove the mod and the items stay where they are, as long as Red Dead Offline is installed.
