Playable Guitar Chords V1.0

Guitar Chords is a playable guitar mod for Red Dead Redemption 2 that allows Arthur to sit down and actually play a selection of guitar chords.
Rather than simply playing a preset animation, you control the chords and strumming yourself. Arthur’s hands move while playing, the guitar produces individual chord sounds, and nearby NPCs can stop, watch and react to the performance.
The mod supports both keyboard and controller input and includes a custom RDR2-inspired chord interface.

Installation instructions
Make sure ScriptHookRDR2 and ScriptHookRDR2DotNet are installed.
Download Guitar Chords.
Extract the contents of the ZIP into your Red Dead Redemption 2 main directory.
Allow the included

scripts

folder to merge with your existing

scripts

folder.
Launch the game.
Press F10 to enter Guitar Mode.

Play 10 different guitar chords: D, A, Em, G, C, F, Bm, Am, Dm and E.
Downstrums and upstrums.
Keyboard and controller support.
Guitar-playing hand and body animations.
Dynamic strumming movement.
Custom recorded chord audio.
Dedicated cinematic guitar camera.
Camera movement while playing.
RDR2-inspired chord UI.
UI automatically fades when inactive.
Nearby NPCs can notice and react to your performance.
Smooth transitions when entering and leaving Guitar Mode.
Ringing chords fade naturally when leaving Guitar Mode.

Controls
Keyboard
Press F10 to enter or exit Guitar Mode.

Z

Caps Lock
= E

Press a chord key normally for a downstrum.
Hold Shift + chord key for an upstrum.

Controller
Select chords using the face buttons, D-pad, L3, LB and RB as shown on the in-game chord UI.
Move the left stick up/down to strum.
Press R3 to exit Guitar Mode.
Guitar Mode must currently be entered using F10.

The required NAudio libraries are included with Guitar Chords.

Known issues
The chord UI may occasionally flicker slightly on some systems or at high frame rates.
Guitar positioning and animations may occasionally look slightly different depending on Arthur’s position or the terrain.
