Interactive Horse Utilities V1.0

Horse Lantern Toggle, Horse Speed Boost, Greet Your Horse, Mount & Dismount Immersion.

I originally wrote this little utility script just for my own personal playthroughs, but I decided to polish it up and share it with you guys here. It adds a few cool, immersive features and quality-of-life tweaks to how you interact with your horse and the world. It might be useful to you, or you might not need it, totally up to you if you want to drop it in your game!

Installation instructions
Just drop the .asi file into your main Red Dead Redemption 2 game folder (where your RDR2.exe is located).

Main features
🏮 Horse Lantern Toggle: When targeting your horse, you can now press a prompt to equip or remove a lantern directly from your horse’s saddle. Perfect for dark night rides.
🗣️ Greet Your Horse: When targeting your horse, you can press a new prompt to Greet them. Arthur will look at the horse and say nice things to calm them or compliment them.
🏇 Mount & Dismount Immersion: Getting on and off your horse now feels better. It triggers a subtle controller rumble (haptics) and Arthur will dynamically say contextual lines (like telling his horse it “worked hard” when hitching, or “been a while” when mounting). Note: This safely disables itself during combat or cutscenes so it doesn’t interrupt the story.
💨 Horse Speed Boost: Built to make horseback riding feel more fun and intense (this one is just an addition for my personal taste!). When riding fast, press Right Stick (RS/R3) on a controller or “N” on a keyboard to trigger a speed boost. The camera will dynamically pull back to give a sense of speed, Arthur will urge the horse on, and (if you are on a controller) you’ll feel dynamic rumble that matches the intensity of the horse’s hoofbeats.
