Built on Live Leak Ragdoll Overhaul (LLRO) by FireHart100 as its base and inspiration, this REMIX has since diverged well beyond a simple retune – gunplay, headshots, corpses, agony and more have all been reworked from the ground up. Every changed parameter is still commented in the file with a “LLRR:” note stating the original value and what the change does, in the same spirit as the original template’s comments.
V2.1 RELAUNCH (aka V2.1a)
The headline of this relaunch: physicstasks.ymt is now fully documented. Every single parameter this mod touches carries its own “LLRR:” note right in the file – original value, what it does, how nudging it changes the result. Tune this mod to your own taste without ever needing a custom version from me.
The biggest update so far, reach-wound re-enabled again, rebuilt gunplay physics, damage-scaled knockdowns, weighted staggers, a fix for the theatrical arm-snap when the combat AI recovers a hit NPC, and a package slimmed down to 2 files. Check the full changelog at the bottom of this page, and DELETE your old “LLR Redone” folder completely before installing!
A rework this big may ship with rough edges, if you spot a bug or something feels off, please drop a comment. Your feedback shapes the next patch.
KNOWN ISSUES – IMPORTANT
Ocasionally, an NPC will get back up after a headshot collapse and casually walk away, dropping dead a few seconds later. The zombie is not born in this mod – he’s a survivor of PDO Reloaded’s Enhanced Headshots system (a non-lethal headshot roll whose “stay down” state bugs out; PDO’s own ini documents the conflict). This mod’s V2.0 recovery mechanics simply gave him legs: downed NPCs can physically stand up again now, so the bug became visible.
The fix lives in PedDamageOverhaul.ini: raise EHS_HeadshotVanillaChance (default 40). Confirmed in testing, the higher the value, the fewer the zombies. At 100 (I personally use 69% and zombies are minimal), every headshot routes through the vanilla lethal path: zero zombies, and as a bonus every headshot plays this mod’s full collapse physics. The trade-off is losing PDO’s non-lethal headshot variety and its extra gore FX on that route, pick your poison, or keep the occasional zombie for the laughs.
RECOMMENDED PDO:R SETTINGS
This mod doesn’t touch damage or health at all – PDO:R owns that side entirely, this one handles the physics reactions, and a lot of what you’ll see only makes sense because of how PDO:R feeds it a beaten-down NPC. Without it your results may vary. A few of its settings in PedDamageOverhaul.ini worth knowing about:
EHS_HeadshotVanillaChance (default 40, I run 69): splits headshots between vanilla instant-kill and PDO’s own “Enhanced Headshots” system – raising it also alleviates the “zombie” bug mentioned in Known Issues above.
DyingStateMajorSpasms / DyingStateMinorTwitches Chance & Intensity (default 40/60/52/60, I run 44/66/57/66): the chest-bucking spasms and per-limb twitches on a dying NPC.
RagdollShotForce / RagdollShotFlinchDuration (125 / 150ms by default, untouched here): the physical kick and flinch length when you finish off a downed NPC with another shot.
WHAT CHANGED
1) Torso shots – easier falls
Base LLRO NPCs could soak 6-8 chest hits standing their ground, and at the same time, a single weak hit could drop anyone. V2.0 rebuilds the whole thing: healthy NPCs soak 2-3 weak hits on their feet and go down as damage stacks – each bullet pushes harder the more lead they carry, and once truly tilted they stop fighting the fall. The stagger has real weight now: slow heavy steps, knees giving way, 3 steps max, and they keep facing the shooter while backing up instead of spinning away. And this applies to EVERYONE: unarmed civilians no longer fold from a single graze – they soak hits, stagger and go down exactly like armed peds, same endurance, same push, same fall.
2) Headshots – instant shutdown
A short, sharp head/neck whiplash along the real bullet direction – with a visible rebound, on moving NPCs too – then every muscle switches off at once and the body crumples. No torso curl, no arms coming up mid-fall, no slow-motion relaxation. Works standing, walking, running or sprinting; momentum carries the limp fall. This relaunch pushes the whiplash further – a bit of muscle tone restored to the neck so the snap reads as a clear, visible rebound instead of a subtle jolt.
3) Chicken arms fix
The sudden bent-elbow arm fling on getting shot is gone from every gunshot reaction – arms now move from impact looseness and the natural delayed wound-clutch. Deliberately kept: the arm jerk on hand shots and the melee flinch.
4) Directional impact & high-caliber shove
Base LLRO removed all bullet impulse – bodies dropped perfectly vertical no matter where the shot came from. V2.0 restores the whole channel with UT-grade tuning: every shot from every weapon pushes along the bullet direction, scaled by accumulated damage and hard-capped for a natural hit weight (no ping-pong bodies). A single lethal shot lands a full push, rapid fire doesn’t stack violent shoves, NPCs charging you are no longer immune to bullet impacts, and the shotgun – which base LLRO silently excluded from the impulse system – hits like the caliber it is. Shot from behind they fall forward, frontal kills drop them backwards, side headshots topple sideways. Plus the game’s bone-level headshot finisher that base LLRO had disabled outright, and the sniper impulse channel with shot-to-shot variation – nobody goes flying. This relaunch smooths the curve further for rapid fire: unload a full cylinder into the same NPC and each hit lands with a comparable push instead of the last one suddenly slamming them down far harder than the first.
5) On the ground – agony & corpse hits
A downed NPC stays visibly, uncomfortably alive: the ground-writhe agony shows up far more often, with the game’s original snappy convulsion timing. And corpses react too: base LLRO zeroed all bullet impulse on bodies already down; they now respond believably when shot – legs and torso included, not just a token arm flinch.
COMMENTS IN THE FILE
The original author’s comments are fully intact alongside the “LLRR:” ones mentioned above. Don’t like how hard headshots push, how long a stagger lasts, or the wound-clutch delay? The number and the reasoning behind it are sitting right next to each other in the file – no decompiling, no guesswork, no digging through forum threads.
ONGOING WORK
This is an active retune, not a one-off upload. I’ll keep working on it and I’m open to suggestions from the community, if something feels off, you’d like a different balance or new features, let me know.
MISCELLANEOUS FILES
Flying Headshots: Available under Miscellaneous files. Built on an earlier version of the main file, with one twist: headshots launch NPCs flying. It restores the bullet impulse that base LLRO removes on the killing shot and on NPCs charging towards you, then cranks the headshot impulse to absurd levels. Every tweaked parameter is commented with a “LLRR ALT:” note, so you can dial the launch force up or down yourself. Just replace physicstasks.ymt
Knee Fall Edition: Available under Miscellaneous files. Built by community request on an earlier version of the main file: headshot victims keep the head whiplash and the instant upper-body shutdown, but the legs keep their muscle tone like in original LLRO – so the body folds at the knees instead of collapsing flat. The headshot push is slightly softer, and corpses run a touch looser and livelier than in the main mod. Every tweaked parameter carries a “LLRR ALT:” note. Just replace physicstasks.ymt
Installation Instructions
Mandatory Step! Script Hook V2 & LML are required, follow the instructions from Ped Damage Overhaul Reloaded, the guide is quite good and easy to follow.
UPDATING FROM V1.x? DELETE your old “lml\LLR Redone” folder COMPLETELY before installing. The package is now just 2 files (install.xml + physicstasks.ymt) – overwriting instead of deleting would keep dead folders (Behaviours/Skeletons/Materials) from older versions lying around.
Download the main mod and drop the LLR Redone folder in to your lml folder, and for the love of god, combine it with PDO:R and Improvements in Blood.
