This mod changes Arthur’s brawling style to make it more accurate and changes through the story as his health declines, John also gets his own unique brawling style different than Arthur’s.
Ever notice Arthur throws a punch exactly like every other PED/NPC? And he behaves the same whether he’s healthy or coughing blood into his own hand? This fixes that. Arthur now has three distinct brawling styles that change automatically depending on his health status (no manual keys or steps needed unlike the Enhanced Brawling Style mod for bigger immersion):
Healthy – his usual heavy, aggressive Bruiser style (From Chapter 1 to Chapter 4).
Unwell – once his condition starts declining (before any official diagnosis), he switches to a plainer, more ordinary way of fighting, reflecting that something’s wrong even if the game hasn’t said it out loud yet (Chapter 5 to Chapter 6 before his TB diagnosis).
Tuberculosis (diagnosed) – once he’s actually diagnosed, his style changes again to something visibly weaker and more desperate, matching how run down he really is (Chapter 6 until his death, unless he is cured with the Tuberculosis Tonic Mod).
If Arthur gets cured, through the “Tuberculosis Tonic” cure mod, his style reverts straight back to his healthy Bruiser style automatically. No manual steps needed.
John isn’t just stuck reusing Arthur’s animations either. He gets his own unique brawling style, so playing as him actually feels distinct instead of like a reskinned Arthur.
NOTE: this mod is compatible with many mods, including Ped Damage Overhaul and the Tuberculosis Tonic mod.
