Michèle Mouton contested the 1981 Rally Portugal for Audi Sport with Fabrizia Pons in an Audi quattro Group 4. After a troubled start with mechanical and brake issues, the duo fought back to finish 4th overall, winning 7 of the 46 special stages. It was Mouton’s best WRC result at the time and the first rally of her partnership with Pons.
