Red Dead Redemption 2 uses fictional or generic names for many firearms that are clearly based on real weapons.
This XML replaces those names with their real-world counterparts while keeping them short enough to fit properly in RDR2’s UI.
It currently contains 542 weapon-related string replacements across the game.
🔫 Included Renames

Unique and character-owned weapons are also covered where applicable.
✏️ Easy To Customize
One of the main advantages of the XML version is how easy it is to change the names yourself.
Open Real Firearm Names Translation.xml with Notepad++, VS Code or any text editor.
An entry looks like this:
Simply change Colt M1873 SAA to whatever name you prefer, save the file and start the game.
Do not change the String ID.
📦 Requirement
Universal RDR2 String Translator
This XML does not work by itself.
⚙️ Installation
Install Universal RDR2 String Translator Place Real Firearm Names Translation.xml in your main RDR2 folder next to RDR2.exe Start the game
📝 Using Other URT XML Files
