Since Rockstar hasn’t bothered, I fixed the disappearing bandolier ammo bug myself. Bandolier Ammo Fix is a small ASI mod that fixes the annoying vanilla bug where the bullets on Arthur or John’s bandolier randomly disappear. This can happen after changing outfits, using the wardrobe, switching clothes from your horse, shaving, visiting the barber, using shops, or anything else that makes the game refresh your outfit.
The mod runs quietly in the background and brings the missing bandolier bullets back automatically when needed. It does not force a visible weapon equip animation, and it does not lock your bandolier to one ammo type. If you switch between rifles, repeaters, or shotguns, the ammo display can still update normally.
Installation instructions
Drop BandolierAmmoFix.asi and .ini into your main Red Dead Redemption 2 folder, where RDR2.exe and ScriptHookRDR2.dll are located.

Configurable ammo display presets.
You can now choose how bandolier ammo should behave from the INI:
Auto : Default/recommended option. Fixes missing ammo while still letting the game decide the ammo style based on the current weapon when possible.
ForceRifle : Always forces the red shotgun shells whenever a bandolier is worn.
ForceShotgun : Always forces the plain rifle/repeater cartridges whenever a bandolier is worn.
LastSeen : Restores the last valid ammo style the game showed.
OverrideLastSeen : Keeps forcing the last valid ammo style whenever a bandolier is worn.
Custom : Uses a custom ammo shop item hash from the Advanced section.
Press Shift+F8 to reload the INI in-game.
