If your game crashes randomly during the loading screen while running alot or heavy mods, this fix may be for you ladies and gentlemen.
WHAT THIS FIXES
Lenny’s Mod Loader (the latest version from 2023) has a bug where it sometimes injects mod assets into the game during startup before RDR2’s internal streaming system has finished initializing. This leaves certain internal data structures in a partially uninitialized state, causing an ACCESS_VIOLATION crash (game crashing without an error at all).

INSTALLATION
1. Make sure Ultimate ASI Loader is installed in your RDR2 folder
2. Drop VfsCrashFix.asi into your RDR2 root folder (the same folder as RDR2.exe and ScriptHookRDR2.dll)
3. Launch the game no configuration needed That’s it. The patch applies itself automatically on startup and works silently in the background.
